It's been a long time..

It's been a really long time since I have posted anything here. In fact its been a while since I've been on most sights on the internet. I've been promoted again at work and my workload has tripled.

All that aside, I managed to get my book published. Yippee!

I have one in the works, that I have an actual publisher looking at now, but I did publish a short story and one of my first novels myself.

Come by and check them out! I'd love to hear any and all feedback, you all may have.

I will say my writing has improved from my first novel, Roses Inn, which I adapted from a story I wrote for some friends.

Cheers to all!

I did it!!!!!!!!!

I did it! I did it! I did it! I finished the challenge with a few days to spare. I got my winning certificate and I'm so stoked!!! Do people say stoked anymore? LOL

Anyway submissions for the publisher I am looking at is December first and I'm just about ready to submit. Its not the one I did with the challenge but it is one that has been my baby for a while, its almost 400 pages long and I've poured my heart and soul into it. So crossing fingers and praying for the best, I refuse to allow myself to get down if rejected, lots are rejected before they are accepted.

Does it get better you ask? Why yes it does... so some may not know who I am talking about others might but I got a message from DH Dublin!! Yeah me!! I almost fell over, he wished me luck on my project and success and even took the time to respond to some personal things I said..  I'm closer to my dreams then I have ever been and I refuse to allow anyone to rain on my parade!!!

I'll make sure to post after I submit, especially if I hear back! LOL

NaNo

So I keep going... I was so close to quiting this morning, you have no idea. But as I go to throw in the towel, my friend sends me an email about this challenge being in their paper and how proud she was of me. How do you give up then? She was just what I needed without even knowing it.
I have spent my entire day off ignoring laundry, ignoring phone calls, and anything else that could distract me. I went from 7000 words to almost 14,000 today!
 Yipee!!
I know for alot of people thats probably nothing, but for me its huge and now I'm ready for a nap....
I hope everyone else in the challenge is doing well.. good luck to all!!

My dream

I just joined several writing communities here. Its my personal goal to publish my first novel before 40, which is fast approaching. I've had good feedback on some short stories I have done, but in the end it is still hard for me to believe anyone that says its good.

I'm wrapping my mind around the idea of the challenge for a novel in November. 50,000 words in 30 days. WOW. But what a challenge. I'd love to hear from anyone who has done this challenge and would like to share some advice. I guess I have a few days to think on it and make sure I am up to the challenge!

Working 9 to 5

Don't I wish. Ha! Try 60 hours a week with a one hour commute each way. Life is all about sacrifice though right? SO they tell me anyway, "Make this small sacrifice for us now and it will be worth your while in the long run." It so better be!

Now that I am done complaining, I will say, I do love my job. Yes I said it for the most part I do love my job. I don't tread going in, I enjoy the people who work for me, and I have the nicest Doctor working for me you could ask for. That said I cant wait for the new office to open up here in my city as appose to commuting. Just a few more months and the new one will be opening and its time to restaff and look for a new doctor for this office.
